Get Fit in '14

It seems that everybody usually starts a new year with the goal to get more in shape, lose weight, build muscle, or some other fitness objective. Studies have shown that you are more likely to stick to a fitness goal if you have friends who are with you on during the journey.

Everybody has different goals and programs that they would like to follow. That is why we've set up a BodyGroup online where you can post updates, track workouts, and receive some motivation to become the Hulk that is hiding inside.

Rule 1045: Don't "Hulk-out" when wearing your favorite shirt
Getting set up is super simple and super free! You will find workout programs, diet trackers, and other ways to track your successes. Just follow the link to http://groups.bodybuilding.com/menrichment where you will find instructions on how to get set up. Fitness challenges will also be coming with prizes for categories like Biggest Loser, Most Fat Loss, and push-up challenge. Stay tuned!

Menrichment Book Club-January 2014

Several guys have expressed interest in a book club of sorts. Starting in 2014 we will begin the Menrichment Book Club. Each month a new book will be introduced as suggested reading. Rather than having a get together to discuss the book over biscuits and cookies, we will have online hangouts to chat and leave comments about anything you'd like to contribute. Simple, easy, and helping you reach your goal of being connected to the literary wonders of the world.

We will kick off 2014 with Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

"The real cycle you're working on is a cycle called 'yourself.'"
Described as "One of the most important and influential books of the past half-century, Robert M. Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is a powerful, moving, and penetrating examination of how we live and a meditation on how to live better. The narrative of a father on a summer motorcycle trip across America's Northwest with his young son, it becomes a profound personal and philosophical odyssey into life's fundamental questions. A true modern classic, it remains at once touching and transcendent, resonant with the myriad confusions of existence and the small, essential triumphs that propel us forward."

As we start the new year with new goals, perhaps a deeper look into ourselves could be worthwhile. Plus, it's got motorcycles. I mean, come on!

Feel free to comment about the book and follow our Google+ page for information on the month end hangout.

One Playlist To Rule Them All

Music is an important component to any man's day. That is why I've added a playlist to the blog's sidebar which will provide you with a steady stream of pump-you-up tunes to kick off your day. It will be updated regularly to keep everything fresh and interesting. If there is any song that you feel is worth adding to the list, just let me know.

It's Go Time!

Gentlemen, start your engines. The official Menrichment page is here and we are ready to dive headfirst into this testosterone filled journey called manhood.

Rule 451: Sharks cannot escape a well executed suplex
Menrichment began nearly 10 years ago when my wife was busy helping with a monthly activity for women called Enrichment. These activities were designed to let women get together to work on crafts, home projects, discuss current events and needs, serve the community, and get to know each other better. I was frustrated that the men didn't have such regular events and that there was a certain lack of brotherhood in our community at that time. And thus, Menrichment was born. It was designed to be a place where men could get together to do guy things, learn new skills, become better husbands and fathers, and just have fun.

The goal of this webpage is to create a forum where ideas, goals, competitions, and stories can be shared. Please make sure to follow the Google+ page as well as this is where several updates, hangouts, and events will be posted.

If you have any suggestions, ideas, or would like to submit a post to be included on this site, just let me know.

So sharpen those machetes because this is going to be a wild ride!
